Hi, I’m Breeana.
As a game designer, I must be adaptable and adjust my style according to the game I’m creating. I enjoy changing my work and learning new techniques to improve my skills as an artist. Currently, my job is focused on a pixel art style, which I haven’t practiced extensively. I have a limited color palette with a limited amount of space for detail. I must be intentional about where I mark, so the player for this project can tell what they are looking at. I’m having fun experimenting and creating various characters with different tiny pixel personalities. Whether I am painting on a giant canvas or working with a 34 x 34-pixel canvas on my tablet, I continue to create pieces that fuel my passion for art. My art transforms as I make new pieces. It can have many layers, textures, and colors, with different meanings or no meaning at all, other than simply creating artwork. The reason I say there is no meaning is that making art serves as an outlet for me to relax. Sometimes I create artwork with no real thought behind it, other than just making something. However, at times, a piece I create without a plan will eventually evolve into having a story or meaning. I don’t put too much pressure on finding out why things are done a certain way because my main objective with my pieces is to have fun.

Narrative biography

I’m from Virginia, but my family originates from El Salvador. I am earning my bachelor’s in
computer game design from George Mason University, but I also studied at GMU’s South
Korea campus for a semester. I learn not only to code but also to create art and design
games from scratch. I also have some knowledge of promoting games and storytelling
through games. My primary focus is to be an artist in the game industry. I focus on 3D
environments and 2D characters. I have only had my work featured in the local newspaper
during my high school years. I want to start showcasing my art online, but I’m unsure about
an exhibition. Another place I would like to see my art featured in is video games, where
many players can enjoy it. I also want to start making comics just for fun and post them
online. I’m very experimental with my work; people might see my work in unexpected
places
